Downloads
[n.b. NEWSFLASH - January, 2009. The latest user statistics (admittedly not totally reliable) suggest that these downloads are being little used -
perhaps users are nervous
about downloading programs. Accordingly, I shall only occasionally update the sudoku puzzle downloads. LATEST UPDATE for puzzles up to 01/05/2010 - all puzzles
given on SUDOKASANA up to this date are included.]
If you would like to be able to tackle sudoku /
sudoku-X and/or killer sudoku puzzles on your computer, the following downloads may be useful.
Note however that the Player
programs will only work with Windows-based systems (or, possibly, with Windows emulators).
To download either Player file in 'zipped' form, first click on one of the first two links below. You should
then see a new window allowing you to save the zipped file - click on Save, select 'Desktop' as the destination and then click
on the new Save button. This will save the zipped file on your desktop. Double-clicking on the icon (now or later) will open a Folder-
like view of the required file - click on the filename and then copy and paste it to your desired folder.
- Sudoku/Sudoku-X player - after unzipping this allows the two types of puzzle to be
loaded, either directly (typed in) and then saved if desired, or from a
file downloaded from here (or elsewhere). Once loaded, the puzzle can then be filled in onscreen, with or without showing,
(and editing,) candidate values. Various options are provided to help with the more straightforward candidate editing 'chores'. The
player can load (and save) puzzles in my own formats (*.sud and & *.sdx) or in a commonly used text format. Fairly full instructions
can be viewed from the player.
- Killer Sudoku player - after unzipping this allows killer sudokus to be
loaded, either directly (typed in) and then saved if desired, or from a
file downloaded from here. Once loaded, the puzzle can then be filled in onscreen, with or without showing,
(and editing,) candidate values. Various options are provided to help with the more straightforward candidate editing 'chores'. The
player can load (and save) puzzles in my own format (*.klr). Fairly full instructions
can be viewed from the player.
